The intent of our design specifications is not only to define the minimum standards required by the Contractor, but to:
- Provide a benchmark on which Contractors could price and implement the works
- Assist with reducing the risk of deficient remedial works being executed
- Provide confidence to our clients that designed works are to be implemented to a certain standard
- Provide a written record of minimum design requirements
- Nominate key objectives and constraints of the works to be undertaken
- Provide a document demonstrating compliance with current statutory requirements
- Function as a legal (contractual) document, an on-site working document, a dispute settlement document and a project management tool
- Provide clarity on contractual issues, program and specific requirements for the works such as liquidated damages, retention monies, working hours, car parking, preferred staging etc.
